Acadian Pools and Platinum Pools publish their prices, which is rare. We used them to set these ranges for the pool itself.
| Pool type | Pool only, small to large | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Gunite / concrete | $55,000–130,000 | What almost every local builder sells |
| Fiberglass | $48,000–110,000 | Quick install; fewer installers here |
| Vinyl liner | $40,000–90,000 | Cheapest start; rare around Beaumont |
| Deck, fence and permits | +$9,000–25,000 | Nearly every yard needs all three |
Estimates checked 1 November 2026 against Acadian Pools' packages, Platinum Pools' price gallery, This Old House, River Pools and Fixr. Spa, heater and enclosure cost extra.

Permits: Beaumont's Building Codes Division on Main Street inside the city; each Mid-County and Orange County city has its own office; county Environmental Control outside city limits.
Fences: Texas uses a pool barrier code of at least 48 in with self-closing, self-latching gates.
Licensing: Texas doesn't license pool builders, so check references and past permits. Pool wiring does need a licensed electrician or installer.
Read the full guide →Two local builders publish their numbers. Acadian Pools in Orange sells custom pools in packages of $65,000–85,000, $85,000–105,000 and $105,000–125,000 and up (Acadian). Platinum Pools, which has a Beaumont office on Dowlen Road, shows finished pools from about $50,000 to past $125,000 (Platinum). Our calculator puts most pools here at $55,000–100,000 before the deck and fence.
A vinyl liner pool has the lowest sticker price. It gives some of that back later, since liners wear out and get replaced, while a fiberglass shell costs more at the start and the least to look after (This Old House). Few Golden Triangle builders sell vinyl, so ask before you count on it.
Gunite is what most builders around here sell, and a concrete shell can be shaped and reinforced for heavy clay. Fiberglass installs in less time and has a slick finish that algae struggle to hold on to, but you'll find fewer installers in the area. On either one, ask how the crew prepares the base under the shell.
It can if it is ignored. The Beaumont soil series, first mapped in Jefferson County, is a dense clay that cracks open when dry and swells when wet (USDA). Builders deal with it by digging deeper, laying crushed stone or select fill under the shell, and sloping water away from the deck. A slow leak is the bigger danger, because it keeps wetting the clay.
In late winter, often. USDA says League clay, common across Southeast Texas, holds perched water 6–30 in below the surface from January to March (USDA). A crew digging then may need a pump running in the hole. Ask for a hydrostatic relief valve in the floor drain.
Not without the builder. Wet clay and a high water table push up on an empty shell, and a light fiberglass pool can rise out of the ground. Pool pros here lower the water only partway, and only when the ground is dry.
Keep it full; Pentair puts it plainly: "Pools are designed to be full at all times." Shock the water, switch off the breakers for the pump, heater and lights, and if flooding looks likely, unhook the pump and store it somewhere high (Pentair). Bring chairs and toys indoors.
