Estimated price by type and size
| Type | Small (about 12×24) | Medium (about 15×30) | Large (16×36 and up) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gunite / concrete | $55,000–80,000 | $68,000–100,000 | $85,000–130,000 |
| Fiberglass | $48,000–72,000 | $60,000–88,000 | $72,000–110,000 |
| Vinyl liner | $40,000–60,000 | $50,000–75,000 | $60,000–90,000 |
Estimates for the pool shell, pump, filter, basic coping and start-up. Gunite is set against two Golden Triangle builders' published prices (Acadian Pools, Platinum Pools); fiberglass and vinyl follow This Old House and River Pools. Checked 1 November 2026. Decking, fencing, permits and add-ons are priced separately, and a site visit sets the real number.
What local builders publish
| Builder | What they post | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Acadian Pools (Orange) | Basic $65K–85K, Premium $85K–105K, Luxury $105K–125K+ (pricing) | Higher tiers add a variable-speed pump, heater, UV/ozone and a robot cleaner |
| Platinum Pools (Beaumont office) | A gallery of built pools sorted from $50K–60K up to $125K and over (gallery) | Finished projects, so decks and features are often included |
| Blue Haven (Beaumont) | No prices; offers an online pool-loan form (Blue Haven) | Gunite only |
Neither builder says exactly what each price includes, so use them as a reality check, not a quote. A pool in the $70,000–90,000 range is a normal mid-size project here.
Add-ons and their cost
| Add-on | Typical cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Raised or attached spa | $12,000–28,000 (estimate) | Far cheaper built with the pool than added later |
| Concrete deck, 600–800 sq ft | $5,000–14,000 | Broom finish is cheapest; stamped and pavers cost more (Fixr) |
| Fence with self-closing gate | $3,000–9,000 | Aluminum runs about $15–35 a foot installed (Fixr) |
| Wind-rated screen enclosure | $14,000–32,000 (estimate) | Fixr's typical range is $10,000–30,000 (Fixr); see the insurance note on our hurricane page |
| Heater or heat pump | $4,000–8,000 (estimate) | The unit is $2,000–4,500 before wiring (River Pools) |
| Salt chlorine system | $1,500–3,000 | This Old House lists $1,100–2,200 (TOH) |
| Permits and survey | $400–1,500 (estimate) | City or county, plus electrical |
| Clay and groundwater work | $1,500–6,000 (estimate) | Select fill or stone under the shell, pumping, drains |
Why two Beaumont quotes can differ
- The base under the pool. On swelling clay, a good builder over-digs and brings in stone or select fill. A cheap bid may skip it.
- Hauling dirt. Flat lots leave nowhere to spread the spoil, so it's trucked out.
- Equipment. A single-speed pump and manual controls cost thousands less than variable-speed and automation, as Acadian's packages show.
- Drainage. After Harvey and Imelda, many buyers add deck drains and regrade the yard.
How people pay
Cash, a home equity loan or line, or an unsecured pool loan. NerdWallet puts typical unsecured pool loans at 2–7 years and 6–36% APR, depending on credit, while equity borrowing is cheaper but puts your house on the line (NerdWallet). Blue Haven and other builders offer loan applications. No utility or state rebate exists for pools.
Checklist for comparing quotes
- Same size, depth, interior finish and equipment list
- What goes under the shell, and how deep they dig
- Relief valve in the main drain
- Deck square footage, drains and fence included or not
- Who pulls the building and electrical permits
- Payment schedule tied to stages, plus the warranty in writing
